Format 1: Printable Fill-in-the-Blank Coloring Pages
A black-and-white image of the Greek myth character or mythical creature appears on the left-hand side of the page (which is oh so much fun to color!) On the right, kids list a variety of information:
- Mortal or immortal?
- Character type
- Relatives
- Friends and enemies
- Powers and personality traits
- Home
- Myth(s)
- Other information
Format 2: Printable Lined Coloring Pages
In this format, a black-and-white drawing of the mythological character again appears on the left. The right-hand side, however, provides only lines. These can be used for note-taking, paragraph writing, or an activity of your choice.
Format 3: Digital Easel Activities
The fill-in-the-blank pages appear digitally. Answer boxes allow kids to type directly on the page. Additionally, they can use the highlighter and pen tools to color the picture.
Format 4: Digital Google Slides
These fill-in-the-blank pages appear in full color. Kids can type responses onto the slides.
Select pages to meet your needs (or choose them all!)
- Assign a different sheet to each student in your class.
- Let kids pick their own characters from myths.
- Choose Greek gods and goddesses, demigods, heroes, and/or creatures to work with your current classroom project. For example, if your students are reading The Lightning Thief, use pages featuring Perseus, the Olympians, Medusa, the Minotaur, and Medusa.
- Allow early finishers to research pages of their choice.
Display kids’ work and show off what they’ve learned!
- Hang them up for a beautiful bulletin board.
- Bind them (with the included cover) to make a class book of mythological characters.
Your students will love it – and you will too.
- Kids are totally enthralled with Greek mythology.
- They enjoy learning about characters from myths – and sharing with others.
- Activities address the intent of your standards. For example, kids complete short research projects to fulfill CCSS W.4.7. They can also describe and/or compare characters, which supports RL.4.3 and RL.5.3.
- Suggested answers are included. (What a relief!)
You can use them with kids of all ages.
