Learning piles of roots and their definitions is a great accomplishment, but have you ever wanted more than just rote memorization and listing words?
The CCSS standards regarding Greek and Latin affixes ask us to “USE common, grade- appropriate Greek or Latin affixes and roots as clues to the meaning of a word”(L.7.4b, caps mine). So if you’re ready to APPLY these roots and start putting them in context, check out this set!
This set of TEN kid-approved activities engages ALL learners and brings students up from just memorizing into critical thinking. They each only take one class period to complete, so they can function as review, challenge, SUB PLANS, or sparking student interest at ANY phase of learning. Each has a rubric for easy grading.
