What educators are saying

I love these colorful anchor charts that I add to my google slides! Thank you for this amazing resource!
I purchased this resource after using the phonics posters last year with my class. I am very pleased with the purchase. My students enjoy adding their own copies to their interactive notebooks. It is a great visual for my students to reference when needed.

Description

These interactive language/grammar anchor charts make learning visible. They serve as tools that students can refer to throughout their learning. They are even more powerful when you create them with your students, while teaching your language standards. I have designed these interactive anchor charts with that idea in mind. While you are creating a large anchor chart for display, students are creating their own, as well.

These have saved me so much time in that I don't have to draw out the beginning parts of the anchor chart prior to the lesson. I can just print, piece together, laminate, and go!

I print a large one in poster size, which can be done from any printer at home or at school. Directions for doing this are included. I print mini-anchor charts for each student by printing the two per page sheets. Students paste their anchor chart into their LANGUAGE NOTEBOOK. They refer to their anchor chart throughout the unit and add to it if necessary.

I have included interactive anchor charts for each of the language standards for FIRST GRADE in COLOR, BLACK with COLOR, and BLACK and WHITE.

Language/grammar skills included:

  • Print all upper- and lowercase letters.
  • Use common, proper, and possessive nouns.

  • Use personal, possessive, and indefinite pronouns.
  • Use verbs to convey a sense of past, present, and future.
  • Use frequently occurring adjectives.
  • Use frequently occurring conjunctions.
  • Use determiners (e.g., articles, demonstratives).
  • Use frequently occurring prepositions.
  • Produce and expand complete simple and compound declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences in response to prompts.
  • Capitalize dates and names of people.
  • Use end punctuation for sentences.
  • Use commas in dates and to separate single words in a series.
  • Use sentence-level context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase.
  • Use frequently occurring affixes as a clue to the meaning of a word.
  • Identify frequently occurring root words and their inflectional forms.
  • Sort words into categories (e.g., colors, clothing) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.
  • Define words by category and by one or more key attributes.
  • Identify real-life connections between words and their use.
  • Distinguish shades of meaning among verbs differing in manner and adjectives differing in intensity by defining or choosing them or by acting out the meanings.
