This Grade 6-8 Cursive Writing Basics Unit has EVERYTHING you need - worksheets and slides - to teach cursive writing. The unit includes a teacher guide to help you fit all the useful teaching content included together.

This comprehensive package is designed to transform cursive writing into an exciting journey of discovery. The slide deck begins with plenty of reasons justifying why cursive is an important skill - for reading historical documents, reading signs in daily life, signing your signature/autograph, and writing notes faster.

Animated GIFs bring letters to life by showcasing proper formation. Printable worksheets enhance learning and skill practice through a range of activities covering the cursive alphabet, linking letters, word formation, capitalization rules, copywork, and even generating words independently.

• This slide deck includes information about why cursive writing is a good skill to have, some key things to remember when writing in cursive, and direct instruction to teach each of the letters of the alphabet in cursive.
• The cursive letters are organized by recommended teaching order based on the difficulty of learning each letter and similar skills are grouped together.
• There is a “Home” button on each of the letter slides to jump back to the Table of Contents and select a new letter.
• Animated GIFs are included to show proper letter formation for each letter.
• This slide deck can be projected on the whiteboard to allow students to practice cursive writing using a whiteboard marker.

Cursive Writing Practice Worksheets:

• These printable worksheets offer a variety of activities to reinforce key skills.
• Print out the entire workbook. Photocopy and hand out worksheets as needed based on which letters students are currently working on. You can teach the letters in the recommended teaching order or alphabetically.
