Gr 10 ELA BUNDLE Florida BEST Learning Scales for FAST (Teacher & Student Cards)

- This is a 10th Grade Florida public and/or charter school resource for those who are accountable for the ELA BEST Standards & students taking the FAST Assessments.

- These cards (ONE teacher set and ONE student set) break down EACH tested ELA benchmark by category and Achievement Level Descriptor so that a teacher will know exactly how to scaffold instruction for the student/s for all levels 1-5.

Category 1 - Prose & Poetry has 4 Learning Scale Cards: R.1.1 Literary Elements, R.1.2 Theme, R.1.3 Perspective & Point of View, R.1.4 Poetry

Category 2 - Reading Informational Text has 4 Learning Scale Cards: R.2.1 Structure, R.2.2 Central Idea, R.2.3 Purpose and Perspective, R.2.4. Argument

Category 3 - Reading Across Genres & Vocabulary has 5 Learning Scale Cards; R.3.1 Figurative Language, R.3.3 Comparative Reading, R.3.4 Understanding Rhetoric, V.1.2 Morphology, V.1.3 Context & Connotation

- Also included is the grade level ELA benchmark to make comparisons to where it falls on the ALD levels, clarifications for the benchmarks, and the entire list of benchmarks as a reference point.

- Basically three different documents, released by the state of Florida have been compiled into one page for each benchmark, ready for the teacher to analyze closely and continue with his/her own lesson study and add more notes to.

- Use the 10th Grade STUDENT Learning Scales, which also have the same Achievement Level Descriptors as the teacher, with the students. The difference is that there is a notes section where the teacher information has been removed and that space can be used for the students to add vocabulary to be learning, question stems, graphic organizer... any notes the teacher deems important related to the benchmark so that all learning is in one place. Use them with the student after having a data chat to help the students know the expectations and how to move their level! Let your imagination go with the possibilities.
