Description

Students watch YouTube videos on the Great Conjunction (of Jupiter and Saturn), to occur on December 21, 2020. Other concepts on Earth's Place in the Universe are included, such as the winter solstice and meteor showers.

Students answer questions to reinforce key concepts: what is a conjunction, what is the distance between planets, perspective from Earth of planets, orbit patterns, what is a meteor shower, time in Earth's rotation, how the Sun affects viewing stars or other planetary bodies, and what is the winter solstice.

This form does not highlight the term Christmas Star.

This Google Form can be shared through Google Classroom. Or, you can download and print it as a low-tech option.
