Description

Good Will Hunting Movie and Teaching Guide! This guide includes the following:

1. Overview of the main characters (for you, the instructor)
2. What Would They Read? - A take-home or library/computer lab assignment that encourages students to begin thinking more in terms of the main characters in the films. Through this relatively simple exercise, students can work on their research skills, reading comprehension as well as their ability to distill information succinctly.
3. Final Exam Questions - 2 final exam take home or in-class questions along with a thorough explanation of what you should look for in the answer.
4. Things I Never Got To Say - Take Home or In-Class writing activity. Goals for this activity are for students to develop their critical character analysis skills through a more casual writing application. Students will examine the motivations, thoughts, feelings and unresolved losses of the character that they choose to adopt the perspective of as well as the character they choose to address.
5, Song Analysis: "Miss Misery" - In-Class listening and reflection exercise. Includes footnotes of poetic techniques and allusions from the song.
6. Movie facts and trivia multiple choice 8 question quiz - This includes an attached powerpoint so you can play this as a class, print out individual sheets or just show the powerpoint and have students fill in the answers on their own paper.

The "Student edition" document is a condensed answer-free version of the teacher document.
