What educators are saying

This is a great book companion for Goldilocks. It expands on a lot of concepts presented in the book.
I loved this very comprehensive story book companion. It covers so many areas of language in addition to the story (asks questions, same/different related to the story, size concepts related to the story). Easy, little prep resource that I will use often.

Description

This is a speech and language companion pack for the book: Goldilocks & the 3 Bears. The packet is appropriate for preschool and Kindergarten students, although it may also be used for students older than those given ages. The book is not included in this set.

Content include:
Pages 3-5: What Doesn’t Belong?: Scan the pictures and determine which picture does not belong.
Pages 6-7: Following Directions: Follow the one-step directions from the story.
Pages 8-11: Story Sequencing: Sequence the part of the story.
Pages 12-14: WH Questions: After reading the book, have your students answer the comprehension questions.
Pages 15-18: Possessive Pronouns: Use the sentence strips included to help students sort story items using possessive pronouns (his/hers/theirs.)
Pages 19-20: Comparatives & Superlatives/Size Sorting: Use the size sorting mats to work on sorting pictures by size. Label each item as you add it to the sorting mat.
Pages 22-23: Same/Different: Print one worksheet for each student. Have him/her circle the items that are the same or different. Encourage students to describe salient attributes.
Page 24-27: Pronouns & Verbs: Students should take turns pulling bed cards. Create a sentence to describe the image. Work on pronouns, action words, and describing.
Page 28-29: Initial Sound Sort: Target phonological awareness by working on your student’s ability to identify the first sound in words. Cut out the images and match them to the beginning sound of the character (/g/ for goldilocks, /b/ for baby bear, /m/ for mama bear and /p/ for papa bear.)
Page 30: Rhyme Matching: Use a pencil to draw a line and match the rhymes.
Pages 31: Gummy Bear Color Sorting: Use a bag of gummy bears. Have the student sort by colors onto the circles. Talk about which colors there are MORE of and LESS of. Which color has MOST? LEAST? Which one is your favorite?
Page 32: Game Board: Use the game board as a general reinforcer for any learning skills.
Page 33: Play!: Use your own doll house furniture to reenact the story!
