This lesson plan and PowerPoint bundle resource teaches students how to use the SMART Goal system to achieve their goals!
The PowerPoint guided by the matching lesson plan directs students to connect past experiences with goal setting for them to recognize their current skill. As students recognize this existing skill, they will then explore the SMART Goal system to strengthen it.
A thorough guide on SMART Goals as an acronym (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) and accompanied definitions for each part is followed up by two SMART Goal examples for both the teacher and students to examine together (both examples have an “answer key” provided). An additional document is provided that includes three more examples of SMART Goals with answer keys as well!
The lesson is supported by ASCA based competencies, mindsets, and behavior standards.
