Description

This Giraffe Nonfiction Unit will amaze your students with a wonderful story about eating breakfast with giraffes! Your students will be amazed that that's even possible with this nonfiction passage! What a wonderful way to refresh reading with your third, fourth, or fifth-grade students!  Critical thinking questions will require students to return to the text to show evidence of their answers!  This high-interest passage includes robust vocabulary and provides the right amount of challenge to engage all readers.  In fact, this resource is packed with everything ready to go!

This story is original and is based on my experiences while visiting Africa.

Students will enjoy reading about having breakfast with giraffes at Giraffe Manor. Additionally, I have included photos of my travels.  These enhance the learning and bring the experience alive for your students!  Show the pictures on a projector or print them out for a station or center!

The Giraffe Nonfiction Unit has it all:

  • The Reading Passage includes multiple choice and short answer formats. Plus, it's compatible with Google Forms (the embedded links are on the "How to Use" page).

  • The Editing Passage includes questions and sentence writing practice.  The Picture Support is great for ELLs and inferencing skills.  These can also be used as a launch for a journal writing activity.  No more wasting your time trying to find a resource that has reading and grammar...this has both!

NO PREP!  Just print & use!
