Description

This is a great Math Center activity for your Gingerbread Man theme! The cards have Gingerbread cookie images along with addition sentences. These cards will help engage your students as they practice their addition and develop fact fluency.

Add a small sticker to the back of the cards to make this a self-checking activity too. Using the clothespins will also give your students a great fine motor workout! You can use these cards as an early finisher activity, in your small groups, or at center time. There are 120 cards covering sums from 0 to 21 so you can easily differentiate for differing student abilities. This set also includes 3 differentiated cut and paste printable addition sheets!

Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
