Description

These 4 Gingerbread Man Emergent Readers continue your gingerbread man theme into your math block! Incorporate reading and keep that gingerbread theme going while covering shapes, early subtraction, positional words and ordinal numbers! (no holidays are referenced, so you can use it with all students!). Each reader prints 2 to a page to help cut down on paper. Included with each reader are word strips so you can print them out and display the story in a pocket chart. Also included for each reader are full color and b&w picture cards to go along with the story. Use them to illustrate the sentences in the pocket chart or have students use them to sequence and retell the story!

Included readers:

Where Is Gingie? - an interactive positional word reader. Students place the gingerbread man in the indicated place on each page.

What Shape? - includes color words and the following shapes: circle, triangle, rectangle, square, rhombus, trapezoid, cylinder and cube.

5 Little Cookies - basic subtraction reader with each page having one less cookie.

5 Cookies On A Tray - ordinal number reader, in the style of 5 Little Pumpkins
