Description

The Graph of Me is an engaging activity to practice graphing ordered pairs and to help you get to know your students. (Perfect for the first day of math class or a fun activity at the end of the year!)

In this activity, students determine if statements are true or false about themselves. Each statement has a corresponding ordered pair. Students graph the points for each true statement to create a unique shape. The result is "the graph of me!"

3 versions included (in both printable paper format and online Google Slides format)

  • 4 quadrants blank graph
  • 4 quadrants numbered graph
  • 1st quadrant numbered graph (Great for students graphing only positive numbers!)

Now in digital Google Slides format and printable PDF!

The online format is accessible through Google Classroom with a link provided in the download.

Bulletin board letters to spell “The Graph of Me” are included in the PDF. Each student's graph will be different. Some teachers have asked students to make a picture and color the shape created on their graphs. They look great hanging as classroom decoration.

An included PowerPoint file allows you to edit and print. The Google Slides version is not easily editable (unless you type new statements and place the text boxes over the original).

Note: An answer key is not provided because each graph will be different. However, the points work their way around the graph so that no lines will intersect if connected in order (whether students mark every statement true about themselves or only a few). Therefore, you will be able to easily spot graphing errors if you see intersecting lines.

This is a great way to making graphing points fun. It works well on the first day of school too!
