What educators are saying

I bought this resource to use with a student I tutor 1-on-1. They loved the game and were thoroughly engaged! I shared the resource with my colleagues who teach fourth grade math and they loved it!
I used this with my students who struggle with this concept, and they enjoyed it very much. Thank you!

Description

Help your students practice identifying geometric terms using these fun and interactive partner Bump games! The only materials needed are two dice and 10 markers in one color and 10 in another color. I like using linking cubes since they can be “locked,” but any other type of marker also works well.

This set includes TWO different Bump games: Lines and Angles AND Identifying Polygons.

The Lines and Angles Bump game includes the following geometric terms: point, line, line segment, ray, parallel lines, intersecting lines, perpendicular lines, right angle, obtuse angle, acute angle, straight angle

The Polygon Bump game includes the following geometric terms: right triangle, equilateral triangle, circle, square, rectangle, trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus, pentagon, hexagon, octagon

These games are ideal for third and fourth, but could also be used as a review center for fifth. They support the following Common Core State Standards:

3.G.1, 4.G.1, 4.G.2

These Bump games go perfectly with my geometry task cards, which you can view HERE

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.
