Genre Posters

Genre Posters! I wanted genre posters for my own 5th grade classroom, and most of the ones I found felt a little too young. I decided to create my own. I used key words and phrases to describe each genre and a picture to help illustrate the idea.

Each mini poster takes up just over half of a sheet of cardstock or paper. I chose to print them out in black and white on colored cardstock and mount them on black construction paper (see the photo in the listing).

*You get two sets of posters in this document - one in color and one in black & white.*

This is a set of 12 small posters including:
*a title poster for fiction
*a title poster for nonfiction

and covering the 10 genres:
*historical fiction
*fantasy
*realistic fiction
*mystery
*science fiction
*traditional literature
*informational
*biography
*autobiography
*poetry

A dotted line is on each mini poster to show where to cut so you get an even border space. Happy Teaching!
