This resource is perfect for teachers looking to incorporate modern cultural elements into their music curriculum while also helping students develop skills relevant to the wider music industry.

Goes perfectly with "Music and Society - GROWING RESOURCE BUNDLE!"

All material, presentations and worksheets, within this resource have been recently updated and now include links to online 'Distance Learning' versions through Google Slides™. This allows extra flexibility and continued support if students are learning and engaging from outside the classroom at home.

This resource is closely related and connects extremely well with other lectures and resources from within the bundle; “Music and Sound within Society”, lessons like “Music in Society”, "Music in Politics", "Music Censorship" and “Culture Industry”.

This massive lecture/presentation, along with all the learning resources would provide a great outline of modern history, also highlighting important historic and social events and a detailed blueprint for music listening habits and music technology.

It covers major elements from each generation, these being:

  • Outline and reason behind generation name
  • Social Outline
  • Common technology used during this time
  • Audio technology of the time
  • Top songs and singles of the era
  • Outline of generations and their music
  • Famous Artists from the generation

The material in these resources would easily cover 4 to 5 lessons over roughly 4 or 5 weeks. The presentation covers the development of music and recording technology and major historic events of each time with a total of 51 slides. Moreover, there are over 20 embedded videos throughout the lesson linking to YouTube and providing an excellent addition to the resource.

This resource also comes with 3 classroom tasks that can be completed alongside the lesson/presentation, also with integrated videos, and will aid learning and revision for learners. Moreover, there is a “Link” exercise, this tests student understanding and knowledge.

Each of these task comes in a “No Style”, black and white printout or an attractive, “Styled” version to help engage learners.

This resource also comes with TWO infographic resources to aid learning. This covers interesting facts about generations and their music and also important

events to remember from each generation.

Finally, there is the presentation in video format. This can be used to aid learning, shared with smartphones and tablets, and used as a convenient resource for learners to watch back.
