"Games in the Orchard" A Scary (yet 'friendly') Theater Script
- Word Document File
Description
This is a scary, yet friendly conventional script that will undoubtedly thrill your drama group. [Some discretion is advised.]
Parker Ward will be entering Junior High School in the Fall; he and his brother (Evan, a couple years his senior) along with a neighbor friend (Robert Allard), are spending the night at their uncle’s property. Unfortunately, the large ranch has a number of rather ‘scary’ attributes. Many years ago, an horrific accident took place with an itinerant worker (the man was murdered by a strange phantom in the middle of the night). Since that time, this creature is thought to reside in the ‘Abandoned Peach Orchard’ where the incident took place… the specter is also haunting the old shed on the outskirts of the abandoned property. We believe the setting and the monster character to be extremely unique and current.
Providing even more challenges to this nocturnal visit by the three boys; Colton’s tortuous high school cousins show up around midnight, and they eventually take him hostage. The young boy is forcibly restrained, and is presently being led towards the broken gravestones near the old shed…
Here belies a masterful, YA Story that stirs common themes of adolescent trials and their horrific consequences. [All profits donated to the homeless; "Aids Orphans Remembered."]
