Description

Looking for ways to cultivate a get it done, don't back down, tough as nails, attitude in an interesting and engaging way?

This DIGITAL or PRINTABLE resource combines a gritty paper challenge, personality quizzes, gritty tips, and a fun craftivity together as a perfect way to teach a GROWTH Mindset or SELF-Care to your students.

The growth mindset activities in this unit are intended to inspire students to take responsibility for their learning and enable them to think critically about what it takes to be successful.

Teaching students the value of a growth mindset and GRIT early on will support their endeavors throughout a lifetime. Evidence shows that there is value in the belief that you can get smarter through challenges and hard work.

GRIT is important for all students whether they excel or struggle.

The PRINTABLE pages are structured so that teachers are able to read along with students or have students read independently, complete the activities as a whole group, and then discuss or share.

The DIGITAL slides are structured as a more independent activity and do not require much guidance. Please note that students will need scissors and a piece of rectangular paper in order to complete the Gritty PAPER Challenge.

The workshop is designed to be easy prep and easy follow-through. I find that natural discussions are the best part! Enjoy!

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

• An interactive GRIT Craftivity

• Informational Text

• Discussion Prompts

• How GRITTY Are You? Quiz

• GRITTY Paper Challenge | What Can I Learn From Challenges?

• Great Video Clip suggestions found on YouTube

• Goal Setting Activity

  • Age-appropriate for grades 5-7
