Description

This excerpt from "Fun ACT Prep: Skill by Skill" is an assessment passage scaffolding all the ACT reading skills from throughout the book, including main ideas, supporting details, context clues, drawing conclusions, author's approach, cause and effect, comparative relationships, and sequence. The passage is an original text about the ever-changing video game industry, with ACT-style questions. The section includes an answer key with explanations and a self-assessment checklist and is recommended for use after the skills mentioned above are taught. This may also be used as a pre-test to gauge students' prior knowledge, helping instructors to pinpoint skills for additional study and practice.

"Fun ACT Prep: Skill by Skill" combines fun, high-interest topics relevant to teens with challenging passages and standardized questions. Practice for the ACT while reading about Batman, LeBron James, phobias, video games, urban legends, "The Hunger Games," Taylor Swift, and many more!
