FEATURES INCLUDE:

The document covers all of the Common Core Literature and Informational Text Standards. Even better, many of the standards repeat across the weeks to provide steady Common Core review.

Questions are written at different levels of Bloom's Taxonomy to help students deeply understand each standard. Wording from the Common Core Standards is also included in the questions to help students become more familiar with the standards and what they expect.

Inference, character analysis, theme of a text, details, vocabulary, main idea, summarizing, text structure, author's purpose, and more reading topics are covered.

The informational text passages cover relevant topics that are commonly taught at third grade level. Each week is thematic, so students are able to learn about one topic at a time in-depth. This is a fantastic way to integrate social studies and science with reading.

The literature portion includes passages that cover topics and themes that are common in literature.

The document includes passages that are written with the same techniques as award winning novels and classic literature to provide authentic practice.

Many of the standards repeat across the weeks to provide a steady review. This is perfect because students can review a variety of comprehension skills in small, manageable doses.
