Description
This product contains material for 18 different Graphic Novels so the teacher creating the course has more than enough material to choose which of the novels they choose to include when planning their own class.
This is an entire Common Core aligned course on Graphic Novels as well as material used to seek approval in your district for the course. With the exception of two units that are only available in pdf format the other 16 units are provided as both pdf files as well as docx (Microsoft word) files to allow for both easy printing and so they can be easily edited.
All the products are individually sold here on TpT as well and have more detailed descriptions and previews on their own individual product pages. Included on this page here is a free preview containing a spreadsheet of the graphic novels aligned to their Common Core Standards, a spreadsheet of the graphic novels with the literary devices connected with them, a spreadsheet of what genre each novel falls into, an example of a rationale handout for one of the novels (in the product there is one for all 18 novels), and a student handout on graphic novel literary terms.
To seek district approval also included in the product are rationales for each novel with a brief summary, strengths of the novel in the classroom, and awards won by the novel. It also contains a syllabus to use and sheets connecting the novel taught to their aligned common core standards and literary terms they are most connected with.
