French this or that for back to school icebreaker CECI OU CELA POUR LA RENTRÉE

C'est la rentrée ! This fun ceci ou cela activity is a perfect icebreaker activity for back to school or anytime you want a fun speaking activity to do with your beginning Core French or your French Immersion students.

You can use my "this or that" activity as a French speaking activity for partners or groups, as a whole-class activity you project for the entire class, as a written activity at a learning centre, or as a digital activity students turn in!

This resource includes 20 French ceci ou cela questions in these formats:

• printable task cards - black and white version and color version - print 4 per page
• PowerPoint presentation you can project and use as a whole-class activity
• digital version for Google Slides to assign to students and have them answer on the document
• version for Google Slides to present (same format as the PowerPoint and not intended for student answers)

This resource also includes a printable student answer page if you want to have them write out their answers and turn them in.

The vocabulary used in this activity is appropriate for beginning French students, although there is no English on any of the student pages.

To help students if they are unfamiliar with any vocabulary, each word students must choose from includes the French word and an easily identifiable image.
