French Reading Comprehension - Le voudu haïtien

Teach your French Immersion and FSL students all about the fascinating history of Haitian voodoo (vaudou/vodou haïtien). Unlike dominant stereotypes of Haitian vodou, this religion (yes, religion) came to fruition as a result of enslaved Afro-Haitians being prohibited from practicing their ancestral West African religions. In this reading comprehension resource, your French students will explore the origins of vodou, its significance to Haitians today, and how Haitian vodou is practiced.
