Description

This is a 55 open ended question movie guide for the documentary film, Freedom Riders that PBS produced. This documentary is one of the best I have seen. It captures the racism in the Deep South so well and was told in such a telling way. This can be shown during Black History Month or when teaching Jim Crow Laws, the Deep South, and the Civil Rights Movement. There is also a 10 question quiz, again open ended, for students to answer after the movie. This is a terrific movie. I showed it to my students recently and they really enjoyed it and learned a lot and it created great discussion afterwards. The movie is 2 hours, but I paused it along the way for students to answer questions and to discuss or explain what was happening. This comes in pdf and google doc format. Answer key included.

No prep for teachers. Just print the pdf and go. Or upload the copy of the google doc to your digital classroom. Answer Key included.

I also have a Freedom Riders Webquest if interested and a digital timeline, map, and notebook on the Freedom Rides as well.
