They are very versatile, and you may use them throughout the year with almost all fiction books. They can be used in a variety of ways, including as morning work, practice with a specific skill, introducing a new skill, use during guided reading, or as homework.

With the full resource, students will enjoy a variety of activities, including becoming a reporter and writing a brief evidence-based newspaper article, recording questions in a sticky note format, making a comic strip to recount a story with dialogue, interviewing a character to learn how he/she reacted to a major challenge, completing a Venn diagram and other graphic organizers and sentence frames, analyzing and dramatizing how a character sounds in the story, completing a reading strategy checklist, and practicing a craft the author used.
