Description
Looking for digital task cards to help students with force, motion, and energy? These audio Push & Pull Boom Cards will help kids study properties of matter with objects like soccer balls, s’mores, rollercoasters, and more. Kids will answer questions about airplanes, trains, canoes, and dog toys, all while Isaac Newton pops in intermittently with his laws of motion. (Lots of other voices, including kids' voices, are included.) Most of the questions are multiple choice, but a few are drag and drop. Kids will be pleasantly startled when they hear auto-recordings cheering them on, especially after they answer challenging questions. Some of the questions were inspired by Bill Nye the Science Guy’s most recent book, others from online research, and all from a love of science.

TEKS
5.6D design a simple experimental investigation that tests the effect of force on an object
3.6B demonstrate and observe how position and motion can be changed by pushing and pulling objects such as swings, balls, and wagons
SOL
5.2 The student will investigate and understand that energy can take many forms. Key ideas include a) energy is the ability to do work or to cause change; b) there are many different forms of energy; c) energy can be transformed; and d) energy is conserved.
5.3 The student will investigate and understand that there is a relationship between force and energy of moving objects. Key ideas include a) moving objects have kinetic energy; b) motion is described by an object’s direction and speed; c) changes in motion are related to net force and mass; d) when objects collide, the contact forces transfer energy and can change objects’ motion; and e) friction is a force that opposes motion.
These are standards that trick kids every year on state tests, so give your kids the advantage. They will remember force, motion, and energy when you are not allowed to help them.
