Description
Celebrate the cultural diversity in your classroom and promote social justice with a folktale unit! Students find and read folktales from their heritage and retell them to the class in a celebration of culture. Meanwhile, they are learning essential reading skills like:
- independent reading
- elements of folklore
- summarization
- characterization
- paraphrasing
- theme
The unit includes:
- 11 days of lesson plans
- 9 days of additional accommodation for ESL/SPED
- pre/post summative assessment
- 4 formative assessments
