Description
My students LOVE pointing out mistakes when I’m modeling a piece of writing for them. However, when it comes to editing and revising their own work that critical eye is not always there. If you notice that students are still making common writing errors, then this is the resource for you!
I created 21 pages of Fix It Up activities with my students’ writing in mind. Each activity focuses on common mistakes in grades 2, 3, and 4. Each page has a standard aligned “practice skill” and students need to fix the paragraph using editing marks. When done they can rewrite a final draft. This is a no-prep activity, so just print and go. This activity is great to leave for sub plans / substitutes, too.
Some practice skills include:
•Capitalization
•Punctuation
•Quotation Marks
•Possessive Nouns
•Common Homophone Mistakes
•Commas in a Series
•Overused Words
•Subject and Verb Agreement
•Fragments and Run on Sentences
•Contractions
