What educators are saying

I loved it and my students loved it. I use it as my word workstation during Daily-5. I really like how the rules and expectations stay the same for each level so you can teach it whole class and students know how to play it when it returns later on in the school year.
I purchased these and the math centers and I love them! I use the games in small group reading rotations to help cement the skills were working on. We work on the skill together as a group and then students go play the game with a partner. Great resource! Emily

Description

This massive bundle of 123 first and second grade literacy centers provides the perfect way to have engaging, differentiated practice with vowel teams, blends, digraphs, diphthongs, r-controlled vowels, long vowels, short vowels, grammar and vocabulary all year long.

Each center follows a similar format, making it perfect for independent practice, leaving you with more time to teach with fewer interruptions!

Great for centers or fast finishers, with this bundle you’ll be able to easily differentiate for the needs of all your students with a massive selection of games to choose from.

Each common core aligned literacy center has:

  • literacy center game so your kiddos can engage in hands-on motivating practice of essential literacy concepts.

  • a fully digital game, with step-by-step instructions on how to use in Google Classroom, Microsoft OneDrive, Canvas™, and Microsoft Teams.

  • a Seesaw™ preloaded link. (You will need your own Seesawaccount)

  • an 'emailable' game with full instructions on how to make a game marker in Adobe Acrobat Reader, so kids can play on their computer without the internet.

  • a black ink copy that can be printed out and sent home.

The game is available in two formats, quarter-sized to fit in photo cases and half-sized. You'll also find a full-sized recording sheet. Please check the preview to get more information.

Each game, whether it is digital or paper, includes an anchor chart explaining the concept. So regardless of whether your students are working from home or in the classroom, they can read about the strategy and get hints and tips.

How does the digital game work?

Each game includes illustrated, step by step instructions and because the format of each game is similar, once students can play one game, they can play them all. Students place the game marker on the game and slide the die cover up to the 'dice eater' to reveal the amount of their first ‘roll’. They move their marker that amount of spaces and record the answer – just like a regular board game. Two recording sheets are included for students playing in pairs.

How does the ‘emailable’ game work?

In the pack, you’ll find a PDF ‘emailable’ game to match each google slide game. Step-by-step instructions are included to show students and their parents how to make a game counter (adult help will be required initially). Students just require a coin to move – heads move 2 spaces, tails move 5. Students click in the editable field and type in their answers. A black ink game is also included for parents wishing to print out the game or for teachers wanting to send it home.

Using the printable literacy center game

You’ll find two different formats for the classroom printable game in this pack. One format is quarter-sized (to fit in photo cases) and the other is half-sized (1/2 8.5" x 11"). If your students have vision or fine motor difficulties, it is recommended to use the larger sized paper for the center.

The game design for each center is consistent to encourage independence. The recording sheets will differ.

Terms of Use

These games are for single classroom use. Teachers may send the games home to students, either in printed or digital format. The games are not to be placed on any platform that is not secure, for example, if a site doesn’t require a password to access it, it is not secure.
