First Week Activities with Syllabus for Journalism & Yearbook UPDATED for 2023!

*UPDATED FOR 2023!* A Syllabus, TWO Kahoots, a "Getting to Know You" Interview WS & TWO "All About Me" worksheets, all walk into a bar. Not really. But if they were comparing notes, they would know how stressful back-to-school is with new students. So here's your first week of school made a little bit easier. This bundle includes:

• Three "Getting to Know You and All About Me" Google worksheets. The "Getting to Know You" WS, is a good first practice for students interviewing each other. For the two "All About Me" worksheets, questions are different. You get to choose with a 2-pg. worksheet or ease back into the new school year with a 1-pg. format.

• A fun 2023 Summer Current Events Review Kahoot Quiz. I have my students do this Kahoot quiz the first day to see how much they read, watched, or just paid attention to the news this summer. It's a lot of fun. *NOTE:* Will update the summer current events quiz Aug. 2, 2023.

• And *NEW* for those who teach journalism as a 2nd semester course, a 2023 Current Events Year in Review is also included. Start 2024 with some fun! My students love this back from the holiday break game.

• Printable Worksheets in PDF format and your Digital copy are Google Docs links. Just click on the link and make a copy into your Google Drive. NOTE: the downloadable file is in PDF. The link is a Google doc so the buyer must have a Google Suite in order to make a copy of the links.
