    Description

Are you looking for a comprehensive writing curriculum for your kindergarten or first grade classroom? These writing curriculum units go beyond your typical writers workshop lessons. Each day students apply the explicit writing lessons in their own writing practice activities. These writing units align with the Science of Writing. Students apply what they know about letter/sound relationships, grammar, and punctuation when crafting their writing pieces. Writing Through the Year™ was created by two kindergarten teachers with over 20 years of classroom experience, and it will save you hours each month in writing lesson plans. Each writing lesson has been classroom-tested and student-approved.

Students will be encouraged and guided as they learn to use illustrations and/or words to express themselves as writers. Every student can be successful, even those who do not know any letter sounds.

This curriculum is Common Core State Standards (all of these standards can easily be correlated to your State Standards) and TEKS aligned. You will find standards correlation guide in the product preview.
