Fire Drill Social Story Book

Fire drills can be scary, unknown, triggering and cause a lot of anxiety for many students. Preparing my students before a fire drill helps to ease their nerves, know what will happen and be aware of behavior expectations.

Fire Drill Book: The book explains why we have fire drills, that it is a practice and not real, the noise is loud and might be scary and what to do when we hear the alarm. At the beginning of the year I read the Fire Drill Book a few times and then we practice it before it happens. The book explains what to expect during a fire drill, the loud noise, that we might feel scared but that it is PRACTICE and not real. It explains the expectations of what the students do when they hear the fire alarm and what NOT to do.
