Description
Don't worry, this PowerPoint is designed for a Child Development class and STARTS with post-conception (and not before). This is an easy to follow and definitely interesting lecture on what happens when the egg meets the sperm and how a female might know she is pregnant. It starts with the journey of the ovum and the union with the sperm to zygote, then implantation into the uterine wall. The lesson finishes with symptoms/signs of a possible pregnancy and how a pregnancy test works. It introduces the three stages of pregnancy; Germinal, Embryonic, and Fetal. Key words used in this lesson are; ovulation, ovum, fallopian tubes, uterus, conception, fimbriae, cilia, zygote, human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) hormone, Naegele's formula, and due date. Students are encouraged to take notes and ask questions. BONUS: An EXTRA PowerPoint is included for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). I have collected over the years, the MOST asked questions from students and answered in this bonus PowerPoint. For example: What does a uterus look like? How long is the umbilical cord? What animal has the longest gestation period? So much more.
