What educators are saying

A+...this is a quality resource that I used in my Personal Finance class. I will continue to use it. Its relevant and engaging. Thank you!

Description

Financial Literacy Unit that goes along with Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad for Teens. This book is a version of his best selling book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, that is specifically for teens.

In the book, Kiyosaki suggests readers keep a journal. I have created over 75 activities that go along with the book that engage students, get them thinking about money and their future, and also hit some CCSS ELA standards. After reading this book and completing all of the activities, there is an online game that students can apply what they have learned (think Monopoly or Life).

This Unit is a great way to wrap-up the end of the year for jr. high and high school students, but it can be used any time of the year. It is a quick read and high interest, since students are obsessed with money (I suppose teachers too). Students will be starting to work around this age, and this book has a lot of information they should really start thinking about.

About the book:

You’re never too young to learn the language of money… and the lessons that rich dad taught Robert. Like it or not, money is a part of our everyday lives and the more we understand it, the better the chance that we can learn to have our money work hard for us—instead of working hard for money all our lives. That starts with learning the language of money. (https://www.amazon.com/Rich-Dad-Poor-Teens-Money-That-ebook/dp/B0175P5O9E)
