What educators are saying

My gifted students were fascinated by Fibonacci and the number sequence. I used every bit of this and didn't have to change a thing.

Description

What is in this product?

This product contains multiple hand outs and activities pertaining to Fibonacci! Contained in this product is

- a handout on the history of Fibonacci

- a handout on the Fibonacci sequence and how it is constructed

- an activity that has students build the golden ratio using Excel

- a worksheet that has students determine the exact value of the Golden Ratio using the quadratic formula

- an activity that takes students through the steps of creating a Fibonacci spiral (printable grid paper included)

- worksheet that has students create Fibonacci polynomials.

My Experience with this product

There is a little bit of something for every level of learner throughout the activities. Some activities would be approachable for junior high students while others are geared more for high schoolers. I often like to bring these activities out if we have a free day or when I teach about sequences/series in my math classes. My personal favourite activity is the Fibonacci spiral because students really enjoy making them and creating their own designs. I always use the Fibonacci Spirals that they create in class to decorate a bulletin board in my room and it always looks fantastic. I have followed up this activity by bringing in a bunch of pine cones so students could try counting Fibonacci Spirals and it is always a lot of fun.

My Other Products.

Looking for a fun way to introduce a new seating plan? Try out my Code Name Game. Students names are written in code and they need to work as a team to figure out which card is theirs.

If you need a great way for your students to review Surface Area and Volume then check out my Surface Area and Volume Review Tiers. This activity is perfect for any teacher that loves differentiated instruction (don't we all?)
