Fairy-Tale Unit (18 rigorous passages, questions, and graphic organizers)

This product includes 18 popular fairy tales with one specific text-dependent questions per story. For student-use in collaborative groups or literacy stations, I have designed the texts to be printed and laminated so that students can use dry-erase markers to practice the skill of text-marking for relevant evidence to the question.

The document includes a graphic-organizer on which students can glue the rigorous question for the story and practice skills in text-marking, annotating, and note-taking. In order to scaffold the skill of breaking-apart (unpacking, deconstructing, etc.) the question, I have also included copies of each question with the pertinent details pre-marked. This approach also serves as a time-saver in case I want students to specifically focus on further skills, such as note-taking and writing an effective answer statement.

Also included with this document is a graphic organizer I use to assist my students in practicing the concept of plot development. When completing the graphic organizer, students can refer to statement structures for writing the main problem, three major events, and the solution.
