Description

The Fairy Tale Fun Unit includes graphic organizers, craftivities, a glyph, games, invitations, awards, ideas for hosting your own Royal Ball, and other activities centered around the fairy tales genre. (Includes 14 resources below)

1) The Retelling Castle Chart: After reading fairy tales, students complete a castle story map to recall all of the important details.

2) Comparison Flipper: After reading multiple versions of one fairy tale, students choose two versions to compare with this flipbook.

3) Mirror, Mirror Character Traits Craftivity: Using a fairy tale character of their choice, students create a "mirror" craftivity displaying the character trait, portrait of the character, and a speech bubble to tell why that trait suits the character in this activity. (Includes mirror and speech bubble patterns, character traits list, and fairy tale character suggestions)

4) Beanstalk Story Structure: After reading fairy tales, students record story elements on leaves to create a beanstalk. Wonderful classroom display! (Includes beginning, middle, and end leaves, story questioning leaves, and a blank leaf)

5) Beginning, Middle, and End with the Three Little Pigs Craftivity: After reading different versions of The Three Little Pigs, students create a pig and write about the beginning, middle, or end in this craftivity. (Includes pig and house templates, book cover, and a page for students to identify the message of the story)

6) Compare/Contrast Versions of The Three Little Pigs Craftivity: After reading different versions of The Three Little Pigs, students compare/contrast two versions of the story in this foldable craftivity. (Includes foldable instructions)

7) Who's the Villain?: After reading The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, students conduct a court case by writing persuasive letters to the judge to decide who the true villain is in this activity. (Includes wolf and pig templates, "What's the Case?" page to prepare for court, and letter templates)

8) Fairy Tale Crown Glyph: Students create their own crowns in this glyph. (Includes crown template and glyph directions)

9) Royal Ball Celebration Invitations: Invitations for hosting a Royal Ball Celebration. Great unit culminating activity! (Includes color and b&w versions and tips and ideas for hosting your own Royal Ball Celebration)
