FREE Non Fiction Text Features Hunt

This is a worksheet I made to help my class to identify the basic features of a non fiction book. Working in a small guided group, (although students can complete this independently) I gave each of the students a different non fiction book. As we went through the books and located each of the features together, I explained what the features were, why they were important and how each one is used. Students then found their own example of the feature in their books and recorded the page number they found it on.

The extension question at the bottom is for students to choose one feature and explain how it helps them to understand their book.
