Description

I am excited to share my free lesson plans with you! This month we are blending and segmenting CVC words - focusing on middle sounds, writing expository how-to pieces, reading and writing about winter, working on our fluency and comprehension, learning about how animals migrate and hibernate in the winter time, and we are diving into measurement, data and graphing in math.

These lesson plans will take the guess work out of what standards and activities you should be teaching this month in kindergarten. I've done all the planning and prep work for you.

These plans are aligned to the kindergarten common core standards, as well as many state standards as well. These lessons also work well for many first grade classrooms too.

I share what we are learning about in reading, math, phonics, writing, what we are doing in our math and literacy centers as well as what read aloud stories we are using this month.

You can click on the links in the plans to print free resources and see each unit in action on the blog. I hope you love this resource as much as we do!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
