Description
This is a blank board game template that I have created and it is a twist on the classic game "Snakes and Ladders" but instead it is "Snails and Ladders!" (Escargots et échelles). I print them in color for about 50 cents a piece and then laminate them. I have 10 sets so that my largest class of 30 can play in groups of three.
My students find this absolutely adorable and love playing it. And yes, they are in high school!
This is the blank template. I create separate game card sets so that I don't have to print out so many board game templates in color. When students land on a space, they have to select a card which will give them a task to do in the language.
Like this board game? It works great with whatever cards/tasks you design.
Check out the accompanying game card sets that I have for it:
Upper-Level Conversation Prompts
Create-a-Sentence Game Cards (Irregular Verbs)
Talking about your family - Interpersonal Communication Cards
Que ferais-tu? What Would You Do?
Places Around Town
I use these games frequently as a unit review, or as practice when learning a new grammatical concept.
I usually play this in groups of 3.
