Celebrate October with 24 Informational Text--- October Themed--- Main Idea Task Cards for Common Core Standard RI.2.. Also included is a Main Idea Anchor Chart specific to Stated and Implied Main Ideas.Two styles of answer sheets: The first set has space for students to write the main idea of each task card and then circle "Stated" or "Implied". The other set of answer sheets have space for students to write the main idea without having to indicate whether or not it is a stated or implied main idea. Two different "optional" literacy center directions to match. Full answer key for both are included. Teacher notes and tips throughout.

Four main idea task cards to a page. Print these main idea task cards on card stock and laminate to use again and again.

Odd cards have the main idea directly stated in the topic sentence while the even cards have an implied main idea.

Task cards are free from the distraction of graphics so that students can focus on the text and main idea.
