Description

Use this common core aligned essay rubric to guide students through the objective writing standards for expository, explanatory and informative writing. This resource includes two different rubrics. The first is traditional with five categories: Introduction, Body Paragraphs, Conclusion, Ideas/Content, and Conventions/Word Choice. The second rubric is designed for expedited grading with boxes to check for areas of growth. When I used the expedited rubric in my own classroom, I averaged 3-5 minutes of grading per essay. Both versions are included in Google Slides.

WAIT!!! This product is included in my Expository Writing Unit.

Descriptions are detailed and specific with terminology directly from the Common Core standards – excellent for using as a teaching tool with your students!
