Description
This Applications of Logarithmic and Exponential Equations Word Problems activity will challenge and engage your PreCalculus, AP PreCalculus, and Algebra 2H students.
There are 10 Task Cards with real world applications, both exponential and logarithmic, some with multiple parts, all with full solutions. Students answer questions about the applications and the contextual scenarios. Note: There is no regression in this activity. The equations and formulas are given.

- Matching Worksheet with lots of room for students to show their work.
- Full typed solutions
These real world applications are solved using logarithmic and exponential equations. Topics include exponential decay and growth, logistic models and problems where the students have to find k first. This set does not include Newton’s Law of Cooling.
You can use this activity in-class, as a HW assignment, or a quiz/test. The cards also make great Stations.
This resource can be used for AP® PreCalculus Unit 2 topic 2.5 and/or as an application of 2.13 since it has both exponential and logarithmic models.
