What educators are saying

I love this digital resource! It helped my students get familiar with the exponent rules. It took a lot of stress off of me to have this great, no prep resource ready for my students!
Great review for the students to determine the rule and find the example for all of the exponent rules.

Description

Practice laws of exponents with this matching activity, included in paper cut & paste format for in person teaching and Google Slides drag & drop format for distance learning.

Students are given a chart of exponent rules and must choose the correct statements to complete each rule. Then they select a correct example to show each rule. Not all cards will be used, and some cards have common misconceptions about exponents.

This activity includes rules for multiplying, dividing, raising an exponent to power, exponent of 0, and negative exponents. The card sort is great for partners or math centers!

Answer key is included.

To access the online version, you will get a link to make a copy of the Google Slides activity to your Google Drive.
