Expanding Sentences Activity!
Teach how to expand sentences using details with this Boom Cards activity. Extending sentences helps to foster complex sentence structure comprehension and expression. Practice stretching sentences by adding phrases/clauses that address wh-questions: what, who, where, when, why, and how.

There are two cards with 3 practice items for each of the "wh" and how questions. This multi-functional resource can also be used to address auxiliary is/was forms with active and passive sentence construction. Verbs included: eating, devouring, licking, chewing, sipping, munching, tasting, snacking, melting, decorated.
Bonus: A reinforcement card is provided at the end of the deck to create a fun picture. This can be used for narrative development and further practice of targeted grammatical structures as well as auxiliary is/was within a story context.
This no print/no prep resource is developed for speech-language pathologists, educators, and parents to support receptive and expressive language development. It can also be pushed out via the Boom Learning Website by specialists to students and their parents or para-professionals for carry-over practice of targeted skills.
