Contents

10 Unique Designs in either 1/4th and 1/3rd page sizes - check out the Preview!

#1: 1 - 2 - 3

This exit slip is focused around the student asking 1 question, writing 2 opinions and discussing the 3 main points explored during the lesson.

#2: Triangle Slices

This exit ticket is designed for slices of information. Students will write or list what they liked and disliked, note a fact and opinion, and follow up with a question and a new idea they've thought of.

#3: 5Ws 1H

This ticket out the door is great for exploring why an event occured. It prompts the student to take notes on who, what, when, where, why and how. This is so open ended it can be applied to any topic. Discovery of Australia? People affected by diabetes? Lowest animal on the food chain? Ideas are endless.

#4: Self Reflection

This entrance/exit tick is based around allowing students to reflect on their understanding. Students are prompted with taking notes under "I completely understand", "I'm okay with" and "I'm really struggling with."

#5: A Bit of This, a Bit of That

An exit slip designed to cover a bit of everything. Students are prompted to explain the day's topic in 25 words or less, list a question they have, write the most interesting idea or fact of the day and then make connections with the topic by discussing how it links to them.

#6: 3 - 2 - 1

An exit ticket that is very open to intepretation. It asks students for "1 main idea", "2 problems" and "3 illustrations". A good one for students who like to doodle and draw.

#7: Prompt Response

A ticket out the door for the teacher who has a specific question or prompt for students to answer. The student is tasked with answering the discussion question. Extremely open ended. Discussion questions can be anything. "How do you find an unknown side of a triangle? Explain in steps" or, "What are the ethical implications of assisted reproductive technologies"?

#8: Cool / Not Cool

An entrance/exit slip that's a little on the creative side. Students are tasked with drawing a bar graph to show the relative "coolness" of the topics/ideas discussed in class.

#9: Alpha Ladder

An exit ticket variant of my Alpha Ladder worksheet, this tasks the students with writing a word related to the topic, starting with the designated letter. For instance, if the topic is Shakespeare and the letters are A, F, I and M, the student may write: anti-hero, fear, ichor and mandragora.

#10: Topic Considerate

A ticket out the door that seeks to explore the main topic of the day. With response areas for examples, non-examples, questions, connections and a self-reflection of the student's confidence and enjoyment of the topic.

Instructions for use

Simply print as many copies as necessary for your class. Precut the slips, and then hand out a slip to each student. Provide them with 5 minutes before the end of the class to complete. Students then return the slips to you before leaving the room.
