What educators are saying

Loved this resource~ it really broke down what perseverance is, in a way that my students were able to understand. They were able to be engaged in the lesson.
Amazing resource! Used it for a PRIDE lesson at my school to teach about Perseverance. This did a great job of distinguishing the definition in a way even the staff didn't think of.

The following lesson is part of my executive functioning skills lesson series.

What are executive functioning skills?

Executive functioning skills are the skills you need to be a successful person. These skills involve: planning, prioritizing, time management, working memory, self-control, metacognition, attention, task initiation, and perseverance.

Students who struggle in school often have weak executive functioning skills. In order to be successful in school and in life, students who struggle need to be taught these skills explicitly. I have created an entire course and curriculum at my school based on this premise, and have students to this day come back and tell me that the “real world skills” they learned in my class, help them as adults. (Over 90% graduation rate for students who take my class)

HOW TO USE:

Please see the slides for directions and teaching video on how to use with students.

NOTES FOR USE:

- I would NOT use this entire slide deck in one sitting, it is a lot to absorb.

- I would break it into two days
