Description

Many assignments or tasks students are expected to complete are comprised of several smaller, tasks or steps that are performed in a particular order. A task analysis is a resource available for students to use to help combat feelings of overwhelm relating to task completion or initiation, provide clarity on how to effectively complete an assignment, or simply provide a diagram or breakdown of the steps a user must take in order to achieve a goal or complete a task effectively.

This tool helps students identify the specific steps they need to take in order to complete a task effectively which minimizes feelings of overwhelm by taking abstract and/or complex assignments/tasks and transforms them into concrete actionable tasks.

Projects, essays, research papers, book reports are all examples of tasks that can be broken down into smaller, more manageable steps. For students who struggle with task initiation, or writing, a concrete guide that focuses on the individual steps of the task can be a transformative tool in their education.
