Description

This engaging lesson focuses on the Historical Thinking Concept of EVIDENCE AND SOURCING. Students will develop their historical thinking and critical analysis skills, including the following:

  • Making inferences
  • Primary vs Secondary Sources
  • Recognizing Bias and Reliability of sources
  • Sourcing historical documents using the HAPPY TIME sourcing method
  • Analyzing several primary and secondary source documents


This lesson includes the following materials:

  • Detailed lesson plan
  • Google slides with big question, key vocabulary, learning goals, success criteria, discussion questions, activity explanations and instructions, and more!
  • All necessary handouts and worksheets, including sourcing template that can be used for assessing the reliability of any historical sources
  • Three (3) different extension activities with varying degrees of difficulty (easy, moderate, challenging)
  • PDFs and editable Google Docs and Slides included
