Description

In Part 1 of this webquest, students are asked to explore the different government agencies that regulate ethical behavior and social responsibility (FDA, USDA, etc). For each of the agencies there is a direct link to take that explores what exactly that agency does. They then must explain 2-3 things that agency is responsible for, and who they help.

Part 2: Students will explore 6 companies that are known to use sweatshops. The links will take the students to the "Code of Conduct of Business and Ethics" for each of the companies. They then will review the table of contents of the Code of Conduct and fill in the table that lists the common categories that companies have in their code of conduct.

Part 3: Students will go to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and research 2 products that have been recalled, and answer some follow up questions about each.

Part 4: Students will read an article that details the "9 Disgusting Things that the FDA allows in your Food" and answer follow up questions.

Part 5: Students will click on a link that takes them to a list of companies that have made the cut for "The Most Ethical Companies". Then they will answer follow up questions.

Part 6: Students will explore 2 products that they feel are unethical and explain their opinions as to why they feel they are unethical.
